CLASS

Breaking

Monday, 18:00 · with SOSO · Open level

Toprock, footwork, freezes and, in time, power moves. Strength, control and your own style.

WHERE IT COMES FROM

Breaking is one of the foundational styles of Hip Hop culture and developed in the streets of the Bronx, New York, during the 1970s. It is a highly dynamic style built around four main elements: top rock, footwork, freezes and power moves. Freestyle and individuality are at the heart of breaking, with dancers constantly developing their own vocabulary and style.

IN CLASS

Classes can include everything from basic grooves and foundational steps to more complex footwork, freezes, transitions and power-based movements. You will also work on coordination, strength, musicality, control and the ability to freestyle.

WHAT TO BRING

Loose clothes you can move on the floor in, clean trainers, water. Knee pads help.
