CLASS

House

Wednesday, 19:30 · with CYPHER · Open level

Jacking, footwork and lofting: you dance with your whole body, in continuous flow, to house music.

WHERE IT COMES FROM

House is a club and street dance style that developed alongside House music in Chicago and New York during the late 1970s and 1980s. Its movement vocabulary is strongly influenced by African-American, Latin and other underground club cultures, and it is deeply connected to the feeling and rhythm of the music.

IN CLASS

Some of the main foundations of House include jacking, footwork and lofting. In class, you'll work on foundational steps, rhythm, coordination, musicality and transitions while developing your own groove. The style is known for its fast and intricate footwork, continuous flow and strong sense of groove.

WHAT TO BRING

Trainers that slide a little on the floor, comfortable clothes, water.
